About us
We work to create safety at sea and growth in the maritime industries in Denmark. For us, safety and growth go hand in hand, because growth in Blue Denmark must be based on quality shipping.
The Danish Maritime Authority is part of the Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs and works to strengthen the framework conditions for the maritime industries, ensure safety and environmental protection on board ships, develop occupational health and social conditions for seafarers, and enhance the sector’s contribution to security of supply and the green transition of shipping.
The Authority has approximately 200 employees. Around 150 are based at our headquarters in Korsør, while the remaining staff are located across the rest of the country.
To strengthen competitive and innovative growth conditions for the Danish maritime sector and to promote safety at sea, good working conditions for seafarers, and the green transition.
Denmark shall be a leading maritime nation characterised by quality shipping, technological development, and strong competencies.
